The Australian Respiratory Council (ARC) warmly congratulates Professor Greg Fox, a valued member of the ARC Board of Directors, on his appointment as Dean of Medicine at Macquarie University, commencing 1 February 2027.
Professor Fox is an internationally recognised respiratory physician, clinician-researcher and leader in tuberculosis (TB) research, with more than two decades of experience spanning clinical care, medical education, research and global health. His work has made an important contribution to the global effort to prevent and eliminate TB. Professor Fox has led major clinical trials and public health interventions focused on improving the detection, treatment and prevention of TB, with a particular commitment to ensuring that advances in research translate into better health outcomes for communities experiencing disadvantage.
Professor Fox is currently Director of the NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence in Tuberculosis and Director of the Sydney Southeast Asia Centre at the University of Sydney, and holds a clinical appointment at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. His international work has included collaboration with the World Health Organization and the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, as well as extensive research and health interventions in Vietnam.
The ARC Board and staff congratulate Professor Fox on this significant and well-deserved appointment and wish him every success as Dean of Medicine at Macquarie University.
